Diabuddies

Diabuddies is a Diabetic Management System. I saw a need for such a product and decided to build it in my spare time. I built custom controls to interface with blood glucose meters and insulin pumps to upload their data to the Diabuddies Database via XML, Soap, and Web Methods. Once the users data is in the database, Diabuddies helps the user track their blood sugars, and insulin requirements to help prevent diabetic complications. Diabuddies is something that is personally very important to me. Right now I am totally redesigning Diabuddies.

My old code is still available for job reference.

Used .Net Charting controls for all graphs, including blood glucose levels / time / insulin, Blood pressure / time, weight / Time, and different polls.
5 tier architecture . MS SQL 2008 DB – Data access layer – Business logic layer – ASP.NET c# code behind – HTML 5 Front End
Created a windows thin client that connects to 3 types of PC connected Blood Glucose Meters. I reverse engineered the client by sniffing out the packets that are sent to the computer from the blood glucose meters; then have my thin client send the same commands to the meter to retrieve the data. Once the client gets the data it converts it to XML format (one meter using JSON format) then uploads it to my server using web services/SOAP. Then the data is graphed using .net charting and can be edited by the user on the website.
Built a wall similar to Facebook. This technology heavily utilizes Jquery and AJAX to seamlessly post information back and forth between the web client / server.
Recreated some components and controls of the site using MVC 3 / Razor

Integres is a very special company to me. I started it with 12 other people and grew it to over 150 employees. In 2007 we sold it to panther Expedited Shipping. I had many different roles there. I apologize for shifting formats here below, but to list every project I worked on there would fill 100 pages easy. I literally worked on 100’s if not thousands of projects for this company. Listed below are some of the bigger projects I accomplished there. Work weeks on average were 80 hours plus, and I absolutely LOVED the thrill and speed at which this startup ran.

Project Manager:

MStarted at Integres as 1 of 12 people. We had over 130 employees, and were recognized by the Sac Bee as one of the fastest growing companies in Sacramento.
Manage multiple projects at once with the use of project server 2007 , project client 2007, and Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 (upgrading to 2007 to meet Project Servers full capabilities).
Enjoy mapping out project plans.
Deployments of our Web sites and Back Office application from dev -> Test -> production were done by me. I decided with my team if a build is ready for production, and if it is I install it.
Development, QA, and networking reported to me.
50% of my time is spent coding -> 50% of my time is hands on 100% is delivery of the project as agreed upon.

WebMaser / Lead Programmer / Analyst / Architect

Designed the first static website by myself.
Help design our production Application Service Center Hardware/Software architecture.
Grew the website with a team to manage the transportation of cargo for Integres’ customers. The website grossed $200k + in revenue monthly, not including revenue gernerated by our back office systems of which I contributed in building. With my efforts we grossed over $3.3 million in revenue a month.
Installed an automated faxing solution to increase our Operations Service Centers productivity by not having to manually fax all day long. This was a big problem in which I stepped up to solve.
Built Integres’ internal helpdesk application. If employee’s have a problem they can enter in their specific problems into the helpdesk web application , which is then (the problem entered) electronically emailed to our tech staff for fast resolution of problems, based on priority. I built it as a 4 tier .NET 2.0 / MS SQL Application which is also integrated with the Integres domain and SharePoint Portal Server (MOSS).
Built a web application for our Change Request Review Committee (CRRC). This ensures all people know what changes are taking place, and what products are being implemented. Before this process people were stepping on others toes, so to speak, and this process now brings everyone into synch. I built it as a 4 tier .NET 2.0 / MS SQL Application which is also integrated with the Integres NT domain and Sharepoint Portal Server.(2007).
I connected our web application (via middleware) to VeriSign Credit Card Services, and helped build reporting around it. To our surprise CC charges were far greater then we expected in the movement of heavy freight; which was our target demographic.
Built the company intranet with Sharepoint Portal Server. This was unique as I was not only the developer, but also the manager of this project. I am most proud of this project and feel it is a technological ‘glue’ that helps keep the company organized and informed.
